The Instructor/Writer conducts classroom/laboratory conferences, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises in accordance with course material, technical manuals, and student workbooks. Duties include:
Teach all lessons within the Program of Instruction (POI).
Conform to the principles and concepts contained in the Government approved POI
Ensure performance to standard for all stated tasks including administering performance based written tests and performance hands-on tests.
Conduct student critiques in accordance with USA ODS standard operating procedure
Provide remedial training as needed
Prepare classroom, training area, and training materials; this includes reviewing lesson plans, subject matter material, preparing recovery training aids, and ensuring that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on all vehicle/equipment
Conduct academic counseling; complete counseling record, grade written and performance tests, supervise students at all times, evaluate student performance, prepare and forward required documentation.
Review outdated training materials and lesson plans within the respective course, based on lessons learned and new training requirements mandated by TRADOC.
Recommend changes and evaluate training material and curriculum's to determine effectiveness and determine that they meet desired training outcomes.
Provide professional and technical information and advice for training strategy outcomes.
Suggest and attempt different approaches and methods.
Initiate minor changes to improve course layout or to add additional material.
Review and recommend changes to doctrinal publications related to course instruction.
Assist in the review of job analysis, task inventory, job task data cards, and task analysis information sheets.
Evaluate student achievement and identify student learning difficulties for particular low and high ability students or groups and improves instruction through the application of innovative or advanced instructional techniques.
(3) years spceific experience in teaching, development, or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military programs for the specific MOS course being instructed.
Technical and tactical certification requirements and documented experience level requirements as defined in the Course Management Plan (CMP) of the course contracted to instruct.
Satisfactorily completed the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC) or its equivalent prior to executing instructional duties.
Satisfactorily completed the Installation Staff and Contractor Training Course (ISCTC) or its equivalent prior to executing instructional duties.
Certified in the TRADOC MOS or ASI specific technical training prior to starting work on this contract.
Proficient with Microsoft office computer programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding MOS or ASI-specific training
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Able to work with minimum guidance
Able to pass the student test prior to executing instructional duties IAW OD Regulation 350-18
Able to perform duties regarding moderate lifting (not to exceed 45 pounds), long periods of standing, sitting or walking and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion
EPA Section 609 – Clean Air Act 1990 Certification prior to starting work on this contract
